What will I be doing as a Medical Assistant?

The majority of medical assistants work in offices of physicians. They also work in specialized fields with cardiologist, OBGYN, pathologist, and podiatrists. Many of them work in clinics and hospital environments.

What Training and Qualifications Do I need?

Employers usually prefer certified Medical Assistants. All of our Medical Assistant students must go through an internship program in physicians’ offices, hospitals, or other health care facilities.

What is the Job Outlook?

Medical Assistants will participate in one of the fastest growing occupations during the 2006-2016 period. For those with formal training and certification, the job opportunities should be excellent. Employment of medical assistants is expected to grow 35 percent from 2006 to 2016. Due to the advances in medicine and technology, people are having longer and healthier lives.
